In an apparently lighthearted attempt to bring some perspective to the multi-national adoption biz, the Indian Association for Promotion of Adoption and Child Welfare, with a little help from Ogilvy & Mather, created a series of freaky ads with blissful children cuddling needy parents. Finally, truth in advertising! Here's my favorite:

ReplyDeleteI am somewhat taken back by the entire spectrum of many adoption scenarios. Roe v. Wade was a watershed, and rightfully so.While there are many pregnancies brought to term in which the parent(s) decide that adoption may be the best choice for betterment of the child's future, or in instances where the "state" has terminated the parental rights of the individual(s, it has and still remains somewhat of a business.
ReplyDeleteAll the "gooey" ads and those with religious overtones don't, in my opinion, "cut the mustard".
Kids need care and instruction. In my humble opinion, it all starts with an appropriate home environment. If adoption can serve the purpose of placing those chilrden in need with acceptable alternatives to grow up as contributing members of society. SUPER!
